Frequently Asked Questions:
What is the difference between Cold Process Soap and Melt and Pour Soap?
Melt & Pour Soap vs. Cold Process Soap
Melt & Pour Soap is made from a pre-made soap base that has already gone through the saponification process. The base is simply melted, customized with fragrances, colors, and other skin-loving ingredients, then poured into molds to harden. It offers a smooth, gentle lather and is ready to use almost immediately after it cools.
Cold Process Soap is handcrafted from scratch by combining oils, butters, and lye, which create soap through a natural chemical reaction called saponification. This method allows for complete control over the ingredients and creates a long-lasting bar with a rich, creamy lather. Cold process soap requires a curing period of approximately 4–6 weeks before it is ready to use. Every bar you see on the website has been properly cured and is ready for use. These bars have been tested for lather, and feel.
Storage & Shelf Life
How should I store my products?
Store products in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and excessive heat.
How long do your products last?
For the best quality, we recommend using your products within 6–12 months of purchase, depending on the product. Check the product label for any specific recommendations.
Safety
Are your products intended to treat skin conditions?
No. Our products are intended for cosmetic use only and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
Do you take custom soap orders?
Yes we do, however, for custom orders, of cold process soap, a minimum of 4 bars have to be ordered, and for melt and pour ( if I don’t already have it made) there is no minimum bar order.
Why? It’s very difficult to make a 1 bar recipe for cold process soap, and that would not be worth the time and supply wasting for just one bar. One loaf mold make around 10-12 bars depending on bar width.
Are your products handmade?
Yes! Each product is handcrafted in small batches to help ensure quality, freshness, and attention to detail.
What ingredients do you use?
We carefully select high-quality oils, butters, fragrances, and skin-loving ingredients. Individual ingredient lists are available on each product page.
Can I use your products if I have sensitive skin?
Everyone's skin is different. We recommend reviewing the ingredient list and performing a patch test on a small area of skin before full use.
What's the difference between lotion and body butter?
Lotions are lightweight and absorb quickly, making them perfect for everyday hydration. Body butters are thicker, richer, and ideal for dry or rough areas that need extra moisture.
What is a whipped tallow balm and, does it smell like beef?
Whipped tallow balm is a rich moisturizer made with rendered beef tallow and nourishing oils. It's whipped into a light, fluffy texture that melts into the skin.A little goes a long way. While it is richer than a lotion, it absorbs best when applied sparingly.
No. Properly rendered tallow has very little natural scent. Any fragrance comes from the added fragrance or essential oils used in the product.
Do you ship products?
At this time, we only offer local delivery, we hope to expand that option soon! Also when shipping options become available, we will only ship to the US.
